Julep-Emilie and Revlon-Blue Mosiac

Hey people. Feels like forever since I've done a post. Sorry about that! I'll announce the winners of the giveaway tomorrow. Until then here's a look at what I've been doing the past couple of days.

I put on Julep Emilie in an attempt to get it out of my untrieds box. It's a nice littler darker than kelly green creme. It's a bit on the thicker side, but nothing too alarming. It went on streaky with the first coat, but was fine after two. Drying time was okay. Quicker than on most. I must say, if it wasn't for the Maven program I would never get this. Not because I don't like the color (which I do). It's just that I think this is a staple color for pretty much every brand out there so you can probably find a damn good dupe of it for a lesser price.

After a while I was getting a tad bored by it so I decided to add Blue Mosiac on top. I picked this up over the weekend while getting Facets of Fuschia and since there's green glitter in it thought I'd try it out over Emilie. Blue Mosiac is blue glitter in a so pale it's pretty much clear base with large blue, silver, and green hexagonal glitter. Like most glitters it took some manuevering to get this on good enough where you get some of the hexagons on your nails. I let this dry by itself and it took longer than I was expecting to be honest. But I liked the look so it was all good.

Now, I couldn't stop messing with it, so today I added a matte top coat. I love those manis where the glitter has been matted so I had to do it when given the chance. I just used my Essie Matte About You. It's my favorite matte so if you can get your hands on it get it. Goes on amazing, doesn't dry so fast where you can't make some corrections. Just a lovely matte.

I love this mani! I like the contrast of the blue glitter on the green base. And making it matte just added that little something extra in my mind. I had planned on just putting Blue Mosiac on top of a blue base but I'm loving the different color base. You all know my feelings on glitter, but this one has my seal of approval. Vive glitter! (at least for now.)

  6. It should be available at your local drugstore. It's really nice. I know it's not facets of fuchsia, but it's pretty great on its own merit. :)

    Thanks for commenting!
