Color Club-Revvvolution

I got this several months ago and finally decided to wear it as a mani. I actually tried this out when I first got it, but I thought it was a bit sheer. I had the idea of putting this over a plain black polish and see what would happen this. So even though it's not in the title, I'm also showing Wet N Wild Black.

Now I understand why everyone loves this polish. One coat will do you. And it dries so quickly. I have a few black polishes and I think this may be my favorite. Ok, so after that was dried I decided to put on a coat of Revvvolution. This dried quickly as well for the record. I had a few bald spots and I tried to cover that up without adding a second coat. When it was dry it looked like this:
indoors
Not cool. I actually sort of freaked out and was about to remove it entirely, and then I remembered I was indoors and holos look best out in the sun. So that's what I did.
outdoors, sun
I don't curse much on this blog but fucking awesome. The pictures don't even hold a candle to how amazing this looks out in the sun.

I love this. I'm glad I put the black base on because I think the holo effect really stands out with it (no topcoat btw). I don't want to take this off, even though I've had it on a few days now. One of my favorite manis this year, by far.

Wet N Wild-Eggplant Frost

Holy crap you guys. I feel like I haven't posted in a while. Even longer since I've painted my nails. Note of advice-if you go back to school after a long period of being out, don't try to take 18 credits. You will have no time to do ANYTHING.

Back to the nails. I've actually been wearing just clear treatments on my nails for the past week, but yesterday while in Walgreens I found a lemming I've been wanting forever. It's nowhere near new, but for some reason every time I tried to find it I never could. Bought it and put it on...only for rain to set it. So there's no sun pics of this awesomeness, but I hope you guys can see how great it is. Or remember since I'm sure I'm the last person to finally get this.

Eggplant Frost is part of the Wild Shine collection. It's a medium purple that goes darker as you build it up with blue shimmer. This is two coats. Is it just me, or do the Wild Shine polishes dry WAY faster then the Fast Dry polishes? This dried super quick to the touch and to the nail.
indoors, flash
I found the formula fine, but didn't particularly like the brush. I can never get good coverage (you guys know, the three paint nail technique thing) with these brushes. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the awesome brushes from other brands. I don't know, just didn't like it. But that's one minor thing against it. The color more than makes up for it. I can't stop staring at my nails. Love this one.

Also, little announcement-I WILL be picking the winner of my giveaway this weekend. I have a little bit of time so that'll be my first priority. Thank you all for being patient with me on that. :)

Wet N Wild-Magic Trident

Magic Trident is another polish from the Wet N Wild Mermaid's Cover Summer collection. It's a medium orange with shimmer in the polish. I'm not going to lie to you, the formula leaves much to be desired. It's streaky and uneven and you can see VNL after two coats. I only used two because, well, I'm too lazy to do three if I don't have to. You can see a bit of brush strokes if you look hard enough and there are some bald spots. Boo hiss.
outdoors
However, I love the color so much that I don't care about the formula. It's very tangerine-y/orange-y and looks like fruit. When out in the sun it shines and you can see gold, orange, and red glitter/shimmer. It's so very pretty y'all. I tried to take a good picture of it, but alas this was the best I could do.
outdoors, sun. hopefully you can see some of the shimmer in it.
Drying time was okay I guess. I don't think it was anything to applaud. And it didn't live up to that Fast Dry title on the bottle. And just like on my previous polish from this collection, the brush was all sorts of wonky and I had to trim some of the bristles. I haven't experienced this before from WNW, and now it's two in a row. I wonder if this is a problem with all the polishes in this collection? I don't know.
outdoors, sun
I love it. Love it love it love. I wish the the formula was better and my brush wasn't all weird, but that's a small price to pay to having fruit on my fingernails.

Wet N Wild-Diving For Pearls

A little news. First, I have 50 followers! I know it says 51, but I decided to follow myself for some reason. More on that in a later post. But I just want to say now, thank you all so so much. :) Second, my middle finger nail broke. Badly. So I had to just cut all my nails down. Sadness, but at least a lot of the parts of my nails that was peeling are off. I just have a few more to get rid of so I guess cutting my nails was for the best.

Now, on to the post. Diving for Pearls is part of Wet N Wilds latest Summer Collection, Mermaid's Cove. And looking at the polish it fits totally into that mermaid theme. I look at it and it makes me think of the ocean. Or seas. The water definitely. It's a teal that leans way more on the green side of things.
outdoors
All nails are two coats. The first coat went on okay, but it was a bit streaky. The formula was thicker than I was expecting, but no biggie. My brush was a bit funky. A few strands were all wonky and I had to cut them off completely. But hey, nothing to get bent out of shape about really.
outdoors. flash
This has a hint of shimmer that isn't too noticeable until out in the sun. Problem is, you can't see it in these pictures. Out in the sun it shines a bit more. Drying time was okay. It was quicker than some, but with two coats not all that fast.
outdoors. sunlight
The whole oceans/seas thing seems to be thing for summer; I like it. I kind of wish this color was released in the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection. I think this fits a bit more then some of those pastels. But I digress.

Wet N Wild-Saved By The Blue and The Wonder Yellows

So let me be upfront and say that I don't like this post. Well, it's not the post I have a problem with, it's the polishes in the post. In an attempt to get these out of my untried box I wore both this weekend and, well, I don't like. Let's start off with the better of the two.
indoors
Saved By The Blue is a color I'm sure everyone has already seen so there's not much for me to say about it. It's a little darker than royal blue creme. It went on fine in one coat (which is what this is above) and it dried fast. In fact, I remember some others who have worn and/or swatched this before saying this dried on the slower side for them, but for me it was fine. And I must say I was able to take this off pretty damn well, especially for a blue. You guys know how tricky blues can be to take off.
indoors, flash
My problem with it is that it's so...meh. I mean, a royal blue. Ho hum. This color has been done, and done better, by other companies. I mean, it's nice to have it in the stash, but if I wasn't so enamored with blues and if it wasn't my favorite color, I don't know if I would have bought it. But it does have a good name, I'll give it that.
indoors
Let me first say about The Wonder Yellows that I think it is a horrible name. Really horrible. It just sounds really cheesy. This is a sheer yellow polish with yellow shimmer in it. For the record, it's not super sheer, but enough that you'll need two thick or three thin coats for full opacity with no vnl or bald spots.
indoors, flash
While the formula was fine I didn't love it. And I must say, this looks better in the pictures than it does in person. I kind of hate it to be fully honest. And I wanted to like this despite the name too. Bummer.

Wet N Wild-SaGreena The Teenage Witch

Charleston always gets everything so much later than the rest of the country, and that includes nail polish. We have to wait a few months longer than everyone else. It's very frustrating to see a great new drugstore polish color on a blog and know (and have it confirmed when I go there) that my local stores don't have it in stock yet. Booo.
indoors, natural light
Anyway, this is SaGreena the Teenage Witch, from the recent Wet N Wild Fast Dry collection. I finally found this last week. It's a shimmery emerald green that goes on with no trouble. It does dry quickly, although I did use thin coats. Speaking of, this is two coats, but I could have done three. I was just too lazy to do so. Honestly, there's not much else to say. It's just a pretty emerald green shimmer. Well worth the $1.99 price tag.

Another Mini Haul

I know, I know. I keep saying that I'm not going to buy any nail polish, and then I go and buy nail polish. But this really is it. Outside of that promotion that Zoya is doing next week sometime. But for real, this is it.
Sorry for the blurriness. What is in the picture above: Wet N Wild-9.0.2.1.Orange, Saved by the Blue, SaGreena the Teenage Witch, Oke Doke Steal the Teal and Purple Nurple, Revlon Perplex, Jesse's Girl Midori, and Zoya Ivanka, Envy, and Suvi. I got in on that Green Trio promo from last week, but I was one of those that got Envy instead of Shawn. That will be coming later when it's back in stock (thanks Zoya!) Anyway, combine this with some of those polishes I bought during that blog sale and from Trans Design when I got the crackles and yeah, I got a bunch I need to get through.

Okay, no more buying except that Zoya promo starting...NOW.

Two Random Wet N Wilds

(Hi new followers! Thank you for following. :) I hope you enjoy this little blog space of mine.)

In an attempt to get some of my polishes out of the not worn box and into the worn box I put on two different Wet N Wilds last night. I guess I kind of swatched them. Huh. Anyway, I bought these about a month ago and just never put them on my nails because something else always caught my eyes. Shame, because these colors are really good and they were $1.99. Score!

For the record, no base or top coats were used with these two.
No flash, artificial light
First one is Disturbia. It's a vampy dark purple (much darker then what you see in the pictures, even the one without flash) with a subtle shimmer. Very subtle. So subtle I didn't even know there was shimmer until I saw it in the pics. I  used two coats and there were still some bald spots. But I think that has more to do with my technique then with the polish? Maybe.
Color isn't true, but you can see the shimmer MUCH better. With flash.
The formula wasn't thick or thin, just in that medium range. It dried quickly. Like, quick quick. So fast I didn't even realize it was dry until I happen to hit my nail across something and saw no dents. I was impressed. Very impressed. I really loved this color and wished I had put it on earlier. I will definitely be wearing this again.
Excuse my poor paint job. With flash.
Second polish is Blue Moon. I wish I had something amazing to say, but it's your typical dark blue shimmer. The shimmer on this is visible, even without the flash. The formula on this one was medium again and went on smoothly, smoother than Disturbia. And this too dried fast. Much faster than I was expecting. I must say, I hated the smell on this one. I don't know what it is, but it didn't smell like nail polish. In fact, it smelled a little like Butter London polishes, if you have any of those. And I hate the smell of Butter London polishes. But not enough for me to hate the color. If you don't already have this, or even if you do, this is a great one for the price. I love this type of color so I'm happy with it.
Artificial light, no flash.
That's it. I still have a good bit to go through, but I'm making progress. My goal is to get all of these out the way by May so I can order all the summer collections without feeling guilty.
We'll see. :)

Wet N Wild-Inferno

This is going to be quicker than usual. Another from the Craze collection (one more after this), Inferno. I actually saw this on a few blogs and was excited to get it. I've been looking for a fiery orange and I thought this was going to be it. Wrong! It looks nice and fiery in the pictures with flash. Other than that, bah. It didn't look good on me. It didn't look good inside and was marginally better outside. I don't know, I just kind of hate this color. Still on the lookout for an awesome fiery orange.
And one with flash. Sigh...why couldn't it look like this without the bright direct light source?

Wet ‘N Wild-Morbid

Another WNW polish. I don’t know why, but I’m having a bit of a love affair with them at the moment. This is Morbid, from the Craze collection. It’s a deep shimmery forest green. It’s really beautiful in the bottle; you can see the shimmer and it almost looks like glitter. But on the nail you need a light source to really see it. It’s just that dark.

The formula was great. Better than Lust. Much better than Lust. It flowed on my nails. This was one coat because I was lazy and I did it during the Super Bowl and I just wanted something on my nails. But it wasn’t nearly as thick as Lust, and much easier to manage. The brush was short and stout and now I’m kind of hating them. But the polish itself was great.

I’m going to have to go and get as many bottles as they have on stock of this color. I really love it. I wish it came in a bigger size, I really do. Like Lust, Morbid is a found in drugstores, although I could only find it in CVS for $1.99.

Wet N Wild-Lust

Savita was starting to chip a bit so I decided to change my mani. I wanted to save my last Zoya Facebook promotion polish for a little bit later so today I have Wet ‘N Wild Lust, a hot pink color from Craze collection. Looking around online I saw that these came out in 2009. Eh, I wasn’t really into nail polish then so it’s new to me. I found these at CVS after going in to get another color in the Craze collection (review later) and seeing that they were Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, I got a few of them. Despite loving the grays and purples lately, I’ve also been desiring pinks lately. Which is weird because usually I’m not a pink girl. At all.
Anyhoo, judging by photos online I didn’t expect the bottle to be so small, but it is. So too is the handle, although the brush seems normal size. I can’t imagine getting more than maybe four manicures out of it before having to buy another bottle. With that said, once I got a good bead of polish on the brush it painted well. The formula was smooth, if on the thick side a bit. But it’s not trouble. The pigmentation is great, even though I can see a bit of my nail line. What’s most surprising to me is that it dried fast. Faster than I ever expected. It’s been so long since I’ve used Wet ‘N Wild nail colors that I can’t remember how long it use to take. But I’m so pleasantly surprised and happy by that little development.
I don’t know if I particularly like this color on me, but I like the polish. I can’t wait to try the rest. I got these at CVS, but it’s a drug store brand so you may be able to find them at other places besides there (I looked around and I only saw them in CVS near me). It was $1.99 and you really can’t go wrong with that. If you’re like me and somehow don’t have them in your collection, I suggest you add them. You won’t regret it I don’t think.

**I have no idea how those dents got on my ring finger nail.
***I see I have two followers. Hi new followers! :)
