Diamond Cosmetics-Sparkling Sherry

I feel like I'm wearing DC every other mani. I promise this is the last DC for a while. At least I think it is. We'll see. Anyway, I got this about a year ago, the same time I bought Decadence. I don't know why I waited so long to wear it because this polish is AMAZING.

Sparkling Sherry is a dark magenta pink foil. The pictures don't do it any justice. It's like a grown up sexy pink. That's how I think of it. The formula is...weird. In the bottle it can separate a bit and you have to shake this up good to get it to mix again. And when I say shake I mean shake. Rolling won't do it. But the polish itself is great. Went on my nails like butter, not thick or thin. It was pretty perfect.

I did two coats, but I only needed one. And the drying time? Can we say fast? One of the fastest. If you only did one coat you'd be done with your nails in ten minutes. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. The two coats didn't take all that long to dry either. The only thing is that it doesn't dry all that shiny. It's not matte or anything, just that the shine in these pics happened with top coat and when you put it on you can see a difference.

I love this so so much. It's pretty perfect, minus that whole shaking the bottle like there's no tomorrow part. But it's worth it. I really can't sing the praises of Diamond Cosmetics enough. The brand is just terrific and the price is absolutely right. And hey, look at me joining in on Pink Wednesday! :) Even if it is late.

Diamond Cosmetics-Chainmail Charm

So I never got the original Chainmail Charm unfortunately so I have no idea how close this one is to the original. But when browsing the Diamond Cosmetics site and saw this was being offered again, I had to buy a bottle.

Chainmail Charm is a very thin, almost jelly type black (it's not, but that's how thin it is). It has lots of holographic glitter running through it. I put on three thin coats and they dried average to slow, but I let this dry without top coat. I know holos typically have a horrible reputation with their formula on "regular" basecoats, but I didn't have any trouble with this at all wearing my typical bc. Was pleasantly surprised.
outdoors, sun. sorry for how blurry it is! it looks 10x better than this IRL.
I don't think this is the most gorgeous black holo ever, but you can't beat it for $2.50. I look at it like, if you didn't get your hands on Color Club Revvvolution then this is a good substitute for that.

Diamond Cosmetics-Don't Teal My Heart Away

This post is late, but better late than never, right?

So September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and yesterday people were wearing teal to show their support. I have to say this is close to my heart. My grandmother had Ovarian cancer (it's been nine years since her last treatment thank god) and my mother had a scare with it. It runs in my family so it's definitely something I have to look out for in the future. You guys have probably seen the Teal Toes campaign that's been posted to several blogs. Now, I'm not showing you my toes (feet are disgusting) but I painted both them and my nails. And I used the polish that TT themselves were using for the campaign, Diamond Cosmetics Don't Teal My Heart Away.

DTMHA is a teal creme on the green side. I got this polish last September (because I loved the fact that DC donated money from every bottle purchased to Ovarian cancer research) and because it's about a year old I think its gotten a bit thick. Nothing horrible. I was able to control this really well. I just don't remember it being as thick as it is now. No worries though because this is one and a half coats. I say that because I only did one coat, but just went back over a few stray streaks on each nail.

Dry time was good. It dried shiny too, but I threw on a topcoat because it's habit now. I don't really have anything else to say about this polish. It's a beautiful teal creme. It's a wonderful polish to have and if you're planning on making a Diamond Cosmetics order and don't have this polish I recommend you add this to it. Part of the purchase for this bottle goes to research and it's a great polish to have in the collection. You win on both accounts.

Diamond Cosmetics-Decadence

Quick post today. I somehow got a splinter stuck in my pointer finger on my right hand. Right beside my nail. I was able to pull it out but it hurts like a mofo right now. It's painful to just type.

Anyway, before that happened I wanted to throw on a color that would be quick and easy and I'd wear just for the weekend and wouldn't feel guilty for taking it off too soon. Enter Decadence. I've had this in my untrieds stash for about a year now. Or damn near close to it. I've actually thought about adding this to a giveaway, but I must say I'm happy I didn't. (Sorry guys.) I'm in love with my nails right now!

This polish came out in, I think, 2009. Fall Collection, if I'm not mistaken. And it's a fall color. It's a brown creme with lots of lighter brown, almost goldish shimmer. At first look it seems a bit dull, but that shimmer really makes the polish. I'm not a huge fan of browns (even though I like them) but for some reason I love this.

The polish went on amazing. Two thin coats. I probably could have done one thick coat. It dried quickly and easily. I've had it one for about a day now and I don't have a chip yet. Even where I have major peels, and I always get chips there within a day. Awesome.

This has put me in the mood for Fall. Diamond Cosmetics is such an underrated brand. I haven't really heard from them lately. I hope they release another collection for Fall or Winter/Holiday or Spring cause their polishes really are great. And for $2.50! Can't beat that.

Diamond Cosmetics-Hypnotic

Hypnotic was a part of the Diamond Cosmetics Winter 2010 Collection. Do you guys remember seeing anything about it? Cause I certainly don't. I got this on a whim when I found out that DC was a part of that whole free shipping the Friday before Christmas deal thing that went on back then. Never put it on until now and that's a shame.
outdoors
Hypnotic is a dark green polish with little hints of green shimmer in it. Looking at it you can tell it's very apropos for the season it came out in. I think we've all seen this color a million time before. It's not too unique in my eyes.

HOWEVER, take this thing out in the sun and bam! This polish sparkles. SPARKLES. When I did my nails last night (cause I knew there was no way I'd be able to do it today) I wasn't all that keen on it. I was very much hating on it. But today, when I got a chance to step out in the sunlight I was all "holy crap." It's so pretty out in the sun I can't even begin. My pictures do not do this any type of justice.

Now, for me to get back to reality. Let me preface this by saying I've never had a problem with DC polishes before. All have been absolutely wonderful to work with. And maybe this is because I got this back in December of 2010 and never so much as opened the bottle until now, but the polish was thick and goopy and not all that pleasant to work with. It wasn't horrible, just not what I usually expect from DC. It did, however, go one in two coats and dried pretty well like the other DC polishes I have.

However, a little thick polish is NOTHING compared to wearing this. It's simply gorgeous. It's a little like holos I think. Inside it's kind of meh. Outside it's WOW. If you plan on making a Diamond Cosmetics order any time in the future, I highly suggest you get this one. It's just awesome.

And Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! :) My mother is the greatest mom ever (but isn't that something we all say?) and I'm truly lucky to have her. I hope today was a good one for everyone.

Diamond Cosmetics-Concrete Jungle

Hello. Today I have Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle to show. After doing a little research online (aka googling) of the polish I’ve found out that it was a part of their Ring In The New Year 2010 Collection. Also saw some say it was a dupe for Rescue Beauty Lounge’s polish of the same name, but I’m not going to say if it is or isn’t. I’ve never used RBL’s version so I don’t know.

no top coat

Anyhoo, this is a light gray creme that does say Spring to me and I wish I had gotten it back then in 2010 because I love it. Before this my favorite DC polish was Don’t Teal My Heart Away because of the color. Now it’s this. There are so many great things about this polish. First, it was opaque in one coat. ONE COAT. I love a polish that has great coverage in one coat. It dried shiny relatively fast. And, unlike other DC polishes I have, it was thin. Well, thinner then their usual. Heck, I even matted one of the nails (doing a mini little accent) and it looked great matte. For the record, I love matte polishes so this may be a bit biased. :)

With that said, there was one negative. Look at the picture below.
I originally got this during their Black Friday sale where shipping was free and this is how the bottle arrived. None of the other polishes I ordered came like this. It is a bit hard to open because of the polish on the side. And you can obviously see the color separating some. With that said, the positives far out weight the negatives. It’s a great color with a great formula. If you don’t have this color I highly suggest you get it. Unless you hate grays, you won’t regret it.

As always, you can get Diamond Cosmetics polishes at their website, diamondcosmetics.com. It retails for $2.50, as do all their colors. I suggest you make a haul out of it. The price is definitely right to do it.

Diamond Cosmetics-It's Electrifying

Sorry for the shoddy job. It was 2 AM and I was tired.

My first real post. Exciting! So you would think that I would show a color that I love, right? Something that I’ve worn numerous times and have multiple bottles of, right? Wrong.

It’s Electrifying is from Diamond Cosmetics Winter 2010 collection. I got it during the free shipping sale right before Christmas (I think they were a part of that last day to ship before Christmas thing that a lot of online businesses was involved in) and while the entire set was only $9, I didn’t want all four colors so I got three of them. This is a medium blue with a slight blue shimmer. It dries a bit matte so you’ll need a top coat for shine. All DC polishes go on a bit thick for me but not unmanageable. Dries fast despite going on thick. You definitely need at least two coats. I always try to get away with one, but couldn’t do it with this one. It goes on sheer with one coat, but nice and opaque with two.

I love blues so I definitely like this color! I have no idea if it goes with my skin tone, but if I like a color I almost could care less. There’s a notice on the site that says that all nail polishes have gone up $0.50, but it still retails individually for $2.50. That’s a great price for a really good polish. I haven’t tried out my other three colors yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to like them just as much. Pretty color y’all. Can’t go wrong with this one.
