OPI-Mermaid's Tears and Silver Shatter

I've actually had these two polishes for a while now. Since Ulta first put it out for display back in early May. But for some reason I kept on picking up other polishes to wear. I don't know why cause after putting this on I'm in love.

Mermaid's Tears is a part of the much seen and ballyhooed OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection. I think of it as a dark mint green, which I love. True mint greens I hate and don't look good on me for anything. This is also less pastely then the rest of the PotC collection. One of the reasons I only bought this one was because of that.

It went on smoothly in two coats. The formula was great and there was no trouble there. I actually didn't really check this one for time. I was lazily painting my nails and didn't really care when it dried. But it didn't take all that long. I really like this color on its own.

Next we have Silver Shatter. I waited to put this one after MT was completely dry since that's when shatters/crackles work best. Now, maybe this is my bottle, but Silver Shatter was thick. Almost too thick. I want to put thinner in it, but I don't want to mess it up. I think I need a new bottle to compare it too.

So I put on thick coats and it shattered fine. More than fine. I think this is my favorite one of all the shatters/crackles out there. I like the effect best. Plus I love silver. SS took a bit longer than most to dry, but still it was fast. Once it was done I threw on a coat of SV and kept on going.

I wish I hadn't taken so long to try these out. Both are awesome on their own, but together they're fantastic. I don't know if I'll get more of the PotC collection (MT was the only color that intrigued me) but OPI hit a homerun with this one. I've actually been wearing this for several days now and still can't stop looking at my nails.
