Orly-Sweet Peacock

It's been a while since I've worn Orly. Don't know why, besides the fact that I didn't really like their summer collection. *shrugs* Anyway, I'm digging their Fall "Birds of a Feather" collection, so let's get to one of them now.

Sweet Peacock is a medium blue foil. The color is bright. Like, BRIGHT. Indoors and out. You can't help but to notice this polish. I think it looks so much better on the nail than in the bottle, but both are pretty in their own right.

The formula with this was weird. It was thick and it felt like it wanted to be a one coater, but it was streaky. This is two coats. It also dried a bit on the slow side. And maybe this is just me, but this chipped pretty damn quickly. I actually have no problem with chips. I have horrible peeling nails so I'm used to my polish lasting a day. But this one didn't even go a day. A few hours tops. Disappointing because I was adoring it before then.

So pretty, but I really didn't like the chips. Maybe it was my base coat. Who knows? Anyway, it's a beauty. If you don't have nail problems this polish is well worth it. A blue foil? Can never go wrong with that.

  1. I haven't been able to find this one or fowl play. What base did you use? all of my peeling stopped once I started using that barielle strengthener cream.

  2. I'm actually using that Julep strengthening base. I really like it. It's been helping me so far. I have far less peels and my nails are getting stronger. That's why I think that this polish and base just didn't work that well together. I've been meaning to get that Barielle cuticle cream but I can't find it in my local TJ Maxx (they sell the Barielle nail treatments).

I hope you find it. It's so pretty. I finally saw it out in the sun today and it's gorgeous!

  3. Gorgeous color! I use Nail Magic and it makes my nails last so much longer and stop them from peeling. Just have to use it all the time since nothing is a miracle lol

  5. I may need to send you the Julep basecoat. I think it made my nails peel. I didn't change anything else in my routine but that and my nails took a down turn...hence them being trimmed. I just ordered another tube of the Barielle cream the other day when they had the promo. I couldn't find it at my TJ Maxx.

  6. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I think it's actually made my nails a bit stronger. But you have a reliable basecoat before the Julep one right?

I think I'll get the Barielle the next time they have a sale.
