Butter London-Mariner and Minger

So around Christmas HauteLook had a sale on Butter London polishes. As per usual for me, I go there when a bunch of colors were already sold out. I did manage to pick up two, Mariner and Minger.

Under artificial light

First one is Mariner. I freaking love this polish. First off, it’s almost jelly like. Hell, maybe it is a jelly. I usually have a hard time telling. The first coat goes on streaky and I wish I had my camera nearby so I could have taken a picture of it. You can see the true color of the polish then, and it’s a blue/green color. More blue to me.

Artificial light

The second coat glided on like, well, butter! So smooth. And the second coat makes the polish almost black. You can just catch a hint of blue so it’s not totally black. I love shades like these, I really do.

No artificial light, no flash

The second polish is Minger. It’s an medium range orange creme that isn’t as bright in real life as it is in the pictures. Even the picture without flash. I had more problems with this one. It was streaky. And while the formula was the medium consistency fold, it was difficult to work with. And this chipped like crazy for some reason. I do like the color though, so that’s something.

What I love about both polishes is that they dried fast. Fast fast. I was very impressed. And I'm in love with the bottle. The one thing I didn’t like about the polishes was the smell. I don’t know why, but it smells weird to me. Not like nail polish at all. But that’s minor in the big picture.

$14/bottle is usually too rich for my blood, so unless I win the lottery (which I don’t play so that’s highly unlikely) or they have a sale I don’t know when I’ll get more Butter London polishes. But I’d like to get more colors and see if they’re more like Mariner or Minger. I’m thinking more like former since everyone that has tried them raves about them. At least I hope.
