Zoya-Mitzi and Lolly

So, as much as I was feeling Breezi and her doppleganger Suzi Says Feng Shui, it was sunny and nice outside this weekend in Charleston for the first time in a week so I decided to finally put on the new mattes from Zoya. I've been itching to try these out ever since Zoya showcased them because, as I've said, I love mattes. I know some hate them, but I just can't. I love the look of them. I love that it's significantly less dry time than regular polish. I love that they have to come in special bottles. Everything about mattes I love.

Anyway, I saw on the Zoya Facebook page how some did an accent using the mattes, so that's what i did using Mitzi and Lolly.

Zoya describes Mitzi as a "funky murky light yellow-toned lime green cream with a velvety matte finish." Okay, I can go with that. Although it's not all that light in real life. It's not as light as the photos make it seem. And just like Breezi that's a shame, cause I like the darkness of it. This went on STREAKY as all hell. I was actually surprised, even though everyone that has used this before has said the same thing. I used three thick coats and even then I wasn't 100% happy with application. It dried slower than other mattes, but I was okay with that because, again, faster than regular polish. I know some haven't liked this one, but I do. I'm not usually a neon green person, but it's kind of awesome.

Lolly is "bold, saturated medium magenta pink cream with a velvety matte finish." Um, YES. And while I'm usually not a pink person, this is just awesomeness in a matte finish. It applied MUCH easier than Mitzi. It was streaky with the first coat, but I got the second one to go on fine. I did three just because I had done three with Mitzi and wanted to be even. It dried faster than Mitzi, but still slower than most mattes.

I can't stop staring at my nails. I love this mani. It screams summer to me. Again, I love mattes so I'm definitely happy that I got this during the BOGO sale. If you like mattes you can't go wrong here.

  3. You should definitely give them a try. Even if you hate mattes, you can always just throw a topcoat on and it'll still look awesome. :)

  6. ABOP-do it! They're kinda awesome.

Lenae-me too. I'm usually not the type of person to wear those colors by themselves, much less together, but they really are great.

    Thanks for the comments!
